torii evolved from my daily walking ritual. Meditative and focused, walking connects me to place. The breath is the thread by which these worlds join, continually in motion, defining a threshold space within.

As gateways to Japanese Shinto shrines, torii mark a transition from the secular to the sacred. Abstract motifs from my home evolved as my own torii, hovering as apertures between a quiet inner space and the transient world without.
